Old Favorite Grimoire Back in Stock!

Grimoire (Book of Shadows) Organic Shea 

Grimoire is a much beloved creation that only appears in the Autumn. Or perhaps it is better named a "concoction"? 

Grimoire (Book of Shadows) is made with our organic shea butter recipe. The soap is blended with a rich, warm fragrance of Dragon's Blood and other resins, Blood orange, incense, smoke and leather.

Red Reef Aussie Clay is embedded in the top to give the soap a better cleansing ability, or be able to double as a shaving soap.

The individual bars look like parchment paper and the scent and visuals recreate antiquity.

I have redesigned an old favorite, "Thieves in the Garden" - now, "Thieves Eucalyptus Blend" which is a lovely soap that can create a vaporous effect in a steamy bath or shower. The all essential oil combination is reputed to help with seasonal congestion, colds, viruses and flu. Now, I cannot make any medical claims, but the same blend is renowned for its health benefits. 

Silk Sari is another new soap made with our rich, organic shea butter recipe. The scent is exotic. With narcotic jasmine, neroli, nag champa and more, the colors and scent of this beauty will transport you to India!

Personally, I have been trying to meld some different scents that are Guerlain-esque. "Vanilla Leather" is the result of one of my experiments. As so often happens with hand crafted soap, the end result is not what I had set out to make - but I love it! Three kinds of Vanilla and a rich, buttery leather note, plus rosewood and bergamot, citrus and more has resulted in a soap that I cannot stop smelling.

These are three of our very best sellers!

Our prices have not increased, nor has our shipping prices. 

Shipping prices can be a deal breaker these days. We have held our prices firm for the past few years, in spite of the USPS increases. 

The weight of our packages can be heavy, so USPS flat rate boxes remains the best shipping option - but the postal prices have seen a hefty increase. The boxes are also smaller (I think). 

Rest assured that we are not passing this increase on to you!

If this is your first time using our soap, be prepared for the surprising luxury that comes at no detriment to your precious skin or the environment.

What makes Angelic Soap outstanding is the uncompromised quality of the ingredients. Our soap is created from the finest, food grade vegetable oils and raw, unrefined, organic butters that are sourced from Fair Trade and ethical vendors. 

We also care about visual appeal, so Angelic Soap uses delicious colorings from nature, particularly natural clays, spices and herbs.

If you are choosing a scented soap, you can be certain that much consideration went into the aromatherapeutic fragrance formula. Angelic Soap will always choose precious essential oils first. Superior quality fragrance oils may be used for more specific or complex blends. 

Here is what you will not find in Angelic Soap: 

Sodium Laureth Sulphate, Sodium Lauryl Sulphate, Propylene Glycol and parabens. No animal products or by-products except an odd organic milk or honey batch. Each bar of Angelic Soap lathers because of the choice and proportion of oils used – NOT chemicals!

2017 Update

It is hard to believe that 2017 is nearly over! 

The year has been busy and this is a very belated post.

I know a few excellent soap makers that have closed their businesses this year. The craft is time-consuming, not very profitable and shipping costs to receive supplies and to ship orders is high.

And - I am still surprised that so many people do not know the difference between REAL soap and detergent.

Many consumers purchase soap on fragrance alone. There is a better approach to getting a beautiful product and being kind to your skin.

Allow me to briefly explain - 

DETERGENT is what is found in most commercial soap bars. This is a bar of sudsy, drying, detergent-based, industrial *soap* that has had all of the natural glycerin extracted from it, then sold as a by product. 

The oils are typically inferior and are a singular ingredient in the finished product. 

The bars are cured by industrial fans. 

All of these steps combine to add up to profits for the company and a horror for your skin.

DETERGENT is not kind to your skin. 

Detergent is the 'soap' that dermatologists and skin gurus warn you not to use.

Angelic Soap's REAL soap is created by mixing a myriad of hand-selected, vegan, organic oils to cleanse, condition and moisturize the skin. The oils are heated, mixed with lye water, poured into wooden molds, cut within 48 hours and allowed to air dry for 4-6 weeks. This is costly and time consuming for Angelic Soap - but worth it according to our devoted clients!

Angelic Soap makes REAL soap with genuine food grade oils and butters. 

We devise our own recipes. 

We hand make each small, artisanal batch. 

It pays to read the ingredients in each of our bars, as we never offer just one basic recipe 'with flavorings'.

A general tip - never use a heavily fragranced product on your facial skin - save that for an aromatherapeutic bath or shower. 

For facial cleansing, Angelic Soap offers a selection of Ayurvedic-based cleansers, conceived in conjunction with an Ayurvedic dermatologist many, many years ago. These bars are noted as "cleansers" in the shop.

I hope this very short synopsis helps clear up some misconceptions about detergent versus soap.
